General description
Hafod y Gwynt is a large stone-built former coaching house with unique mountain views. It stands in 15 acres of land with an 8 acre lake surrounded by the high mountains of Snowdonia. Situated at the head of the Nant Gwynant valley between Beddgelert, Capel Curig and Llanberis, it isan ideal location for exploring the Snowdonia National Park with many local tourist attractions and superb beaches also within easy reach. It provides an ideal base for walking and mountaineering. Snowdon, the highest mountain in England and Wales, can be ascended from the house. Trout fishing is available in Lockwood's Lake within the grounds. There is a large attractive garden with a stream running through. It is just 200 metres from the renowned Pen Y Gwryd hotel.
Accommodation
The house sleeps12, pets are welcome. The self-catering accommodation consists of 4 bedrooms: family room with double bed, bunks and en-suite bathroom: family room with double bed, bunks and en-suite shower room, double room with basin, twin room with basin, family bathroom/WC and separate WC/cloakroom with dehumidifier for drying outdoor clothes. A cot is available. The lounge has lake views, colour TV with video, Sky, DVD player, a solid fuel stove, and parquet flooring. The kitchen has a quarry-tiled floor, electric. cooker, microwave, dishwasher and fridge, adjacent to the ample dining room, which has a Payphone. The conservatory provides alternative sitting/dining area. There is a utility room with washing machine, tumble drier and freezer. There are electric heaters throughout and electric under blankets on all beds (not bunks), electricity by coin meter. Gas central heating can be provided at an additional charge, by arrangement. There is ample parking. Camping is also possible in the grounds and alongside the lake.
